Fitting a middle seat position

 

I fitted a set of seat runners in the middle, and added a set of bolts to move the front set of foot pedals aft for solo paddling.


I also repainted the hull to remove all the scratches from the bottom of the river Wye!

 All the panels wired together and ends of the sheer camps glued. Mistake 2...I trimmed these before making sure that the beam was the correct 33 inches, so had to make a couple of small wedges to infill. I also had to take the table off my bandsaw to make enough room... I had some fun with time lapse on my phone too...

Kit Ordered

  I have stopped obsessing, and have ordered the kit from Fyne Boats. My garage is just long enough for the build (I hope), and the garden shed is just big enough to accommodate the completed kayak (I hope).  The finished craft should look something like the photo.

The third coat

 Here is the third coat of epoxy going onto the hull. The glass weave has disappeared from the flat bottom, but there is still a little visible on the sides - I might need a forth coat there. I am using a small foam paint roller, and the epoxy goes on very thinly - a good thing, I think.
