I have flipped the hull again and sanded up to 120 grit, ready for glassing. The deck has had to be put out of the way, and is a bit precarious balanced on top of the drill press!
I have stopped obsessing, and have ordered the kit from Fyne Boats. My garage is just long enough for the build (I hope), and the garden shed is just big enough to accommodate the completed kayak (I hope). The finished craft should look something like the photo.
All the panels wired together and ends of the sheer camps glued. Mistake 2...I trimmed these before making sure that the beam was the correct 33 inches, so had to make a couple of small wedges to infill. I also had to take the table off my bandsaw to make enough room... I had some fun with time lapse on my phone too...
I fitted a set of seat runners in the middle, and added a set of bolts to move the front set of foot pedals aft for solo paddling. I also repainted the hull to remove all the scratches from the bottom of the river Wye!
