Drilling holes in the boat...

 I am planning on doing some longer trips (and camping overnight) so I need some deck lines on the kayak. This has required drilling some holes and fitting some 3 D printed 'maroske' fittings.


Theses were epoxied in place and a piece of glass fibre cloth was added on the inside, and once dry they were trimmed flush with the deck.

I used paracord for the deck lines and I will be able to string shock cord between the loops when needed.

Everything tested out well on a paddle down the Grand Union Canal.

and the inside of the deck

 This is the last major piece of fibre glassing - the inside of the deck. I trimmed the bottom of the coaming first with a saw and then an electric file - not a very enjoyable job, but it came out OK, I think.
